Automatic translation means PIM regularly translates missing texts from your main language into your other languages by itself.
How to turn it on
- Open Settings → Translation.
- Under Automatic translation choose:
- Off — translates only when you run it yourself;
- Fill missing languages — translates empty fields;
- Fill missing and refresh outdated — also re-translates machine translations whose source has changed.
- Save.
Changing settings needs the Administrator or Owner role.
How it works
- PIM checks every 5 minutes and translates up to 200 products per language each time.
- The Standard engine is used; for long descriptions the Premium engine, if one is chosen.
- Only machine translations are re-translated — human edits are never touched.
- Automatic translation counts towards the monthly limit.
If you have many products and a limited quota, start with Fill missing languages and do re-translation with translation lists in the background — it's cheaper.
