Getting started
What PIM is, signing in, the interface and the home page
What is EcomCart PIM
EcomCart PIM is a Product Information Management system. It keeps all product data in one place โ names, descriptions, properties, images, prices, stock and translations โ and sends it to your online stores. How it works 1. Suppliers send product data (XML, CSV, Excel or API). EcomCart imports and organises it. 2. All imported products go into the shared catalogue โ one organised catalogue used by every PIM customer. 3. You choose which products to carry in your assortment. You can add your own texts, prices and translations โ these are your changes, and only you see them. 4. PIM checks whether a product is ready for stores (name, description and image in each language). 5. PIM publishes ready products to your stores. What's in the menu | Menu | What you do there | |---|---| | Home | Today's tasks and an overview | | Products | All products, Store readiness, Categories, Suppliers | | Images and files | Images, videos and documents of your assortment | | Suggestions | AI-suggested properties, categories and image descriptions | | Translations | Overview, Needs review, Translation lists, Costs | | Stores | Where data goes (store connections) and the Queue | | Settings | Languages, translation, users, API keys, webhooks | | Help | API documentation for developers | Most important to remember - Your edits don't change the shared catalogue โ they apply to your store only. More: Your changes and the shared catalogue. - Machine translation never overwrites text written by a person. - If something is unclear, write to us in the chat โ the button in the corner of the screen. Next step: Signing in.
Signing in and your password
Signing in 1. Open https://data.ecomcart.store. 2. Enter your username or email and password. 3. Click Sign in. If you have access to several companies, switch between them at the top of the sidebar: Switch company. No account? PIM has no self-registration. Your account is created by your company's administrator (owner) under Settings โ Users. If your company has no users yet, contact EcomCart support. Forgot your password? 1. On the sign-in page click Forgot your password?. 2. Enter your email and click Send link. 3. Open the email and follow the link to set a new password. If the email doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder. Changing your password 1. Click your name (avatar) in the top right corner โ Profile. 2. Under Change password enter your current and new password. 3. Save. You can also change your name and email in the profile (Profile information). Security: don't reuse your PIM password elsewhere and don't share it with colleagues โ create a separate user with the right role for each person.
Interface language, dark mode and quick search
Interface language The PIM interface is available in five languages: Latvian, English, Russian, Lithuanian and Estonian. 1. In the top bar click the language flag (for example ๐ฌ๐ง EN). 2. Choose a language. The choice is saved for your user โ next time you sign in, PIM opens in the same language. Product names are shown in the interface language. If a product has no name in that language, you'll see the name in another language with that language's flag โ so it's obvious the translation is missing. The interface language is not the same as content languages. The interface language is the language of buttons and menus. Content languages are the languages your product texts exist in โ they are set under Settings โ Languages. See Content languages. Light and dark mode The top bar has three buttons: - Light โ always light; - System โ follows your computer or phone setting; - Dark โ always dark. The choice is saved in this browser (on another computer you choose again). Quick search and commands (โK) Press โK (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows), or click the search field at the top. - Type a product name, SKU or EAN to open the product straight away. - Type a page name (for example "Queue" or "Settings") to go there. Sidebar The main menu is on the left. Some items show a number โ for example, how many suggestions are waiting for a decision or how many translations need review.
The home page โ what to do today
After signing in you land on Home. At the top you see a greeting, the number of products and the time of the last import. What to do today Four cards show where there's work. Click a card to open an already filtered list: | Card | Where it takes you | |---|---| | Products without an image | The product list filtered by "No image" | | Missing translation | Products without text in the chosen language (with an estimated translation cost) | | Outdated translations | Translations whose source text has changed โ Translations โ Needs review | | Suggestions | AI suggestions waiting for your decision | Other sections - Store readiness โ how many products in each language are ready to publish. See Store readiness. - Translations this month โ how much machine translation has been used out of the monthly limit. - Recent changes and Recently updated โ what you or the imports changed lately. If your assortment is empty If you don't have any products yet, the home page shows an Add from catalogue button. See Adding products from the catalogue.
