Stores and publishing
Connecting stores, the publishing queue and publishing one product
Stores β where data goes
Open Stores β Where data goes. This lists all stores (channels) PIM sends product data to. Adding and changing stores needs the Administrator or Owner role. Others can only view the page. Supported platforms EcomCart, OpenCart, CS-Cart and Test store (sends nothing anywhere β writes data to a file; handy for trying things out). How to connect a store 1. Click Add store. 2. Enter a Name and choose the Platform. The form shows exactly the fields that platform needs: | Platform | Fields | |---|---| | EcomCart | API URL, API key | | OpenCart | Store address (without /index.php), API token (from the OpenCart REST API extension), Product route (optional), Language IDs β each language's language_id | | CS-Cart | Store address, Administrator email (a user with API access), API key, Language codes β each language's CS-Cart code | 3. For languages click Add language and enter the matching ID or code. 4. Tick Active and click Save. Keys and tokens are hidden after saving (β’β’β’β’ saved β leave empty to keep it). To change one, type the new value; to keep the old one, leave the field empty. If you don't know where to find these details, contact support β we'll help. What PIM sends For each product in each language: SKU, EAN, MPN, name, short description, description, SEO title and description, manufacturer, categories, weight and dimensions, properties, price, sale price, currency, stock, status, images and variant keys. Your version is sent β with your changes, if any. Disabling and deleting a store - Untick Active and nothing more is sent to the store. Jobs waiting in the queue for it will end with an error. - Deleting a store also deletes its publishing records in PIM (the products stay in the store itself). Next: The publishing queue.
The publishing queue
Open Stores β Queue. Every job sending a product to a store is shown here. States | State | Meaning | |---|---| | Pending | In the queue, not sent yet | | Pending removal | The product will be removed from the store | | Publishingβ¦ | Sending now | | Published | Sent successfully | | Error | Failed β see below | | Removed | The product was removed from the store | While something is being sent, the page refreshes itself every few seconds. Actions - Filter by store β shows one store's jobs only. - Run pending (N) β sends all pending jobs now. - Sent content β shows exactly what data was sent (useful if something looks different in the store). - The Attempts column β how many times it was tried. If there's an error PIM doesn't retry automatically. Do this: 1. Open the error row and read the message. 2. Common causes: the store can't be reached, the API key was changed, the store is disabled (Active unticked), the product is missing a required field. 3. Fix the cause and click Retry. If the error keeps coming back, copy the error text and send it to us in the chat.
Publishing a single product
1. Open the product β Your changes (or β― β Your changes and publishing in the list). 2. Scroll to Publishing to stores. There's a row for each store and each language. 3. Click: - Publish β send the product for the first time; - Update in store β send the latest version (when the product is already published); - Remove β remove the product from the store; - Retry β if the previous attempt ended with an error. The job appears in the publishing queue. Requirements - The product's workflow state must be Approved (in the editor's Workflow panel). - You need the Administrator or Owner role. - The store must be active. Before publishing you can preview the data that will be sent. Check readiness: a product without a description or image will look unfinished in the store too.
