Your changes and the shared catalogue

PIM has one shared catalogue used by every EcomCart PIM customer. EcomCart maintains it, and supplier data flows into it. When you edit a product, your edits are stored separately β€” as your changes (technically an "overlay"). Your store uses your value; everywhere else the catalogue value stays. Why this is useful - You can adapt texts to your style without breaking data for others. - When a supplier updates its data, your edits stay. - Fields you haven't changed automatically get the latest catalogue data. Where to see your changes On the product card click Your changes (or β‹― β†’ Your changes and publishing in the list). The page shows: - Texts β€” the catalogue value next to yours; - Properties and dimensions β€” the same; - Image selection β€” which catalogue images to show, in what order, and which is the main one; - Publishing per channel Γ— language. If a field has no edit of yours, it shows β€” no override β€”. How to go back to the catalogue value 1. Open Your changes. 2. Empty the field with your edit. 3. Click Save overlay. The field shows the catalogue value again. Image selection has a Revert to base button. Images You can't upload your own images β€” images are shared by all stores. You can choose which catalogue images to show, their order and the main image. If a product is missing an image, contact support. Status in assortment PIM tracks whether you've changed a product: - Selected β€” the product is in your assortment without your edits; - Enriched β€” you've added your own changes; - Off β€” the product is in your assortment but not used (not published).

Product texts and translations

On the product card open the Texts and translations tab. It holds all of the product's texts in all your content languages. Fields | Field | Limit | |---|---| | Name | β€” | | Short description | 300 characters | | Description | formatted text | | SEO title | 60 characters | | SEO description | 160 characters | Below is a Properties by language block β€” properties whose values differ per language. Views - Single language β€” see and edit one language; - Side by side β€” languages in columns next to each other (handy for comparing with the source). + Language opens settings where you can turn on another content language. Empty field If a language has no text, the cell offers two options: - Translate from LV (or another language) β€” machine translation; the estimated price is shown next to it; - Write it yourself β€” type the text by hand. Translate all missing translates all empty fields in all languages at once. Where a text comes from Each text has a pill: - human β€” written by a person (name and date); - machine β€” machine translation (with the engine name); - translation memory Β· €0 / vocabulary Β· €0 β€” reused existing translation, free; - supplier β€” text from the supplier; - outdated β€” the source text changed after translation. Outdated text has Retranslate and Review buttons. Saving Click Save (or ⌘S / Ctrl+S). Cancel discards unsaved changes. If you try to leave the page with unsaved changes, PIM warns you. Edits apply only to your store β€” the shared catalogue doesn't change. Fields you've changed are marked only you. If you change the text in your main language, translations in the other languages become outdated and appear under Translations β†’ Needs review.
